Sahar Durali

California Rural Legal Assistance
Staff Attorney
Sahar Durali is a staff attorney with California Rural Legal Assistance in the organization’s Delano office. She represents low-income clients in education, housing, public benefits, and employment matters with a specialization in education law. In this capacity, she has focused on rural educational advocacy, specifically Kern County’s school discipline crisis and barriers to access for indigent students, special education students, limited English proficient students, and students of color. As part of this advocacy, Sahar combines litigation and close work and partnership with community-based organizations. Sahar also works actively on Sanders et al. v. KHSD et al., a lawsuit brought against the Kern High School District, the Kern County Office of Education, the State of California, and the California Department of Education challenging the Kern High School District’s discriminatory discipline policies and hostile educational environment. Sahar received her law degree from UCLA School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University’s Schreyer Honors College.
