Language Access Director
David Steib is the language access director at Ayuda, a nonprofit that provides direct legal, social, and language access services to immigrants in the Washington, D.C., area. David received a B.A. in Spanish and Theater Studies from Yale University and then spent a year in Spain as a Fulbright Scholar. He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. Before joining Ayuda, David was the assistant director of the Office of Public Interest at American University Washington College of Law. Before that, he was a housing attorney and Skadden Fellow at the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia. David serves on various committees of the D.C. Language Access Coalition; the board of the Washington Council of Lawyers (public interest voluntary bar association); the steering committee of the D.C. Bar’s Courts, Lawyers, and the Administration of Justice Community; and the Language Access Advisory Committee of the D.C. Courts.
