Balance, Professionalism, and Commitment to the 'Cause': A Discussion of Generational and Gender Differences and their Implications for Managers

As women and younger people enter legal aid workplaces, they bring different expectations, needs, and desires about how work and private life are integrated. Technology and the ability to work from anywhere at any hour also change staff relationships with work. Senior legal aid managers often carry "old" ideas about full-time commitment to the profession and the "cause." This session will discuss how we can build organizational cultures that recognize and celebrate these differences while doing excellent and powerful work. Presenters will come from diverse backgrounds of age, race, and ethnicity.
